If you’re looking for some holiday entertaining inspiration (or just feeling a bit peckish yourself), there are a number of events coming up in Almonte that will tantalize your taste buds!
On Saturday, November 15, the Almonte Farmers’ Harvest Market runs from 9am-3pm at the Almonte Community Centre. Add some local colour and flavour to your celebrations with wreaths and garlands, as well as fall veggies and ground-on-the-spot flour. There will be organic beef, lamb and chicken, and even wine from Prince Edward County! Bring your carving knife to be sharpened, and stuff some stockings with local preserves, crafts, knits and delicious baked goods. That same day, from 11:30am-3pm, Peches et Poivre will host a delectable demo by michaelsdolce jams.
If you’re downtown that weekend, don’t forget to drop in at Mill Street Books and reserve your ticket to their Wine Tasting and Lecture by Ottawa Citizen wine columnist Rod Phillips. Ticket includes a copy of his new book: The 500 Best-Value Wines in the LCBO 2015. The event takes place at 7pm on Monday, November 17, but seating is limited so drop in or call them at 256-9090 to reserve your spot!
And then on Tuesday, November 18, you can find out more about staying healthy over the holidays (and beyond) at Dandelion Foods‘ in-store workshop Building Blocks of Nutrition: Set your Foundation. Their nutrition specialist will walk you through her top five foundational supplements that support your good health and well-being.
