Whether you are looking for decorating ideas or just want to revel in others’ Christmassy-ness (or escape your home’s Christmessiness!), there are several folks opening their beautiful be-decked halls to you this week!
The Canadian Federation of University Women of Perth runs a Christmas House Tour of eight interesting homes, both heritage and modern, to raise funds to put towards education in the community (Dec 6 & 7, 10:30am-3:30pm). Tickets are $30. Find further information, including photos of some of the homes, on their Facebook page.
On the same dates (Dec 6 4:30-9:30pm, Dec 7 10am-4pm) you can tour eight decorated homes in CP as well. Proceeds from the Christmas in Carleton Place House Tour will support needed patient care equipment at the local hospital.
And if you’re more about the outdoor sparkle than the inside décor, you may be interested in these two tours.
- In Last Duel Park (Perth), bundle up for an evening stroll or wagon ride to see the lit trees and buildings, while serenaded by Christmas carols (playing throughout the park). Take a walk 5-9pm on December Fridays, or enjoy a horse & wagon ride on Saturdays.
- Prefer the outdoors from indoors? How about taking the Railway Museum’s Bus Tour of Lights on Dec 6, 5-7:30pm? You will tour the beautiful lights around Smiths Falls on a bus, then return to the museum for some cider and treats! … And did we mention it’s free?!
