Having owned the cheerful bulk and health food shop in downtown Carleton Place for almost six years now, Dena Comley is delighted to invite everyone in to explore her newly expanded premises. After taking over the store next door (and taking out a few walls in the process), Dena now offers a variety of new products displayed in a spacious layout that invites browsing.
Some new lines include Seed to Sausage products, local artisan cheeses, and organic German body care, among many others. There is a nutritionist on staff to answer your questions, and they are also creating a resource room on site with a lending library and information about local alternative health practitioners. These initiatives all build on The Granary’s mandate to “offer accessible, ethical, local and sustainable products”. As Dena explains, “promoting a healthy lifestyle in a vibrant and thriving community is just as important to us as protecting the natural environment for our next generation.”
The Granary is open Mon–Wed (9–6), Thur & Fri (9–8), Saturday (9–5) and Sunday (11–4). You can find out more about them at their great website, where you can also sign up to receive their informative e-newsletter.
